2019-03-04: Hello everyone,

Its that time of the year when snow is falling, spring is around the corner and cricket is seeping back into the minds.

With that being the case, I am requesting all teams participating in the 2019 season to please send in their dues for the season. There are no changes to the fees from prior year at $1,600 per team.

You can mail in a check, e-pay, or make a deposit to LIPL's bank account.

All fees are requested by March 15th, 2019.

Thank you.

2018-10-20: Dear LIPL Family,
I want to take a moment to thank everyone for a successful 2018.  Despite the washouts, we managed to play a lot more games than many other leagues could. I hope you all enjoyed the season. With the kit bags packed up and sprinklers winterized, its time to get together to have some family fun.

We will be hosting an award ceremony at The Mint - LI in Garden City on Nov 11th 2018 from noon to 5 PM.

https://cricclubs.com/LIPL/customPage.do?pageId=1&clubId=988

We expect to sell out quickly, so please reserve your spot early. It is a great venue and I hope you all make the best of this opportunity. The awards will not be distributed for non-attendees.

All menu items will be using halal meat only and we did not forget about the vegetarians either.

2017-09-08: Hi all!
As you all know, this is a last week before play offs.  The top 2 teams will go to Semi finals directly.  The next 4 will play Quarter finals on Sept 16th.
Semi finals and final will be played on the same day Sept 23rd.

Here are some quick ground rules that apply to all teams.
- Umpire is always right.
- No more new players.
- For Play offs, you can only have players who have played atleast 50% of the games.
- Helmets: I keep asking teams to mandate helmets. Seems like many players have issues following that rule. Therefore, I will eliminate that rule for now.
- No balls:  Any field restriction related no-ball will not be a no ball.  If the ball has been bowled, the batting side has the right to call it a dead ball.  If you see the field restrictions are not being followed, let the fielding team know to bring the players in before the ball is bowled.
- Square Leg umpires decisions can be overruled by the main umpire.
- The boundry is a straight line between the two flags, there is no imaginary arcs, and there trees are not part of the boundry flags.

Gentlemen, please enjoy the game. It is not a World cup. All of you are grown sensible adults and in my eyes, you are all champions.

2017-08-14: Another good weekend of cricket!

Thunder Eagles beat LIUCC and Falcons beat Nurdlers in a very close game.  The game of the week was probably Devils vs Mustangs.  Top two teams put a very good contest and Devils made sure they hold on to the #1 spot.  Great game!!

Thanks to Biju Mathew Philip of Bulls for contacting the Parks Department and submitting a written complaint about the Porter Potty.  The Parks Dept. acted on it promptly.

Helmets required:
Guys! Please be safe and wear the helmets. I made Mehul Patel wear a helmet.  As you know Mehul is the one who has shouldered the financial resposnisibility of the league, I still made him wear the helmet and he obliged.  Captains, please make sure your team members play with the helmet on.

Do not drive on the field:
I still notice people driving cars on the field.  Captains, please make sure you tell your players not to do so.

Umpire Evaluation form
Please save this link as a favorite and submit your feedback on regular basis. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfiVGjybMNew7hkitc_9T4FRo4542OD9ChgqOHyZPEwE6gS2g/viewform

Blackout on August 19th @Hecksher State Park
We may have some games scheduled in Brentwood. However most other teams are expected to be off for August 19th weekend. I would prefer to schedule the games for the teams who are behind on their number of games.  Schedule will be posted by the end of the day Tuesday August 15th.

Thank you all!.

2017-08-07: What a weekend of Cricket!

All games were quite exciting. To start of LI Kings were blown away by Bulls for just 79 runs but they ripped into Bulls batting and only lost by 3 wickets. Moguls were almost out of the game and Tony hit a last ball 6 to win it for Moguls. Noory brothers pulled of an amazing win against Hawks. But wait, it gets better, Thunder Eagles needed 14 off last 3 balls. The scorecard for last over was dot, 2, 2, 1, 1Wd, 6, and 6, making it a second TIE in two weeks.

Scoring on the app:
Please note that if any team is using a different player that is not listed on the app, make sure they update it.  Teams will not be able to register any new players starting Septemeber.  If I see a wrong name on the scorecards, I am simply going to update it to "Guest player".  That means the "Guest Player" will not be able to qualify for the Playoffs.  For example, I will be updating Binder for Hawks, Umar Alizai for Bulls, and Shrey Patel for Mustangs to Guest for couple of recent games I saw.  Please update these names on your own before I start updating them.

Umpire is always right:
Please note, that the umpire is always right.  you are free to fill out the umpire evaluation form after the end of the game.  You are not allowed to create unneccessary argument or scene on the field.

Rain Delays:  We understand that rain causes delays every once in a while. However, teams need to show up on time and be prepared to start the game. Zahid Ali from Moguls was on the field and installing the matting while many of you were asking me if the game was still on.  Going forward, if there is a rain delay for the AM games, the overs will be reduced so the PM games can start as scheduled.

Matting and materials: Matting, nails, hammers and stumps must always go back to the shed or the box. Do not bring any of those items towards the pavilions area. We noticed that once these items cross the pitch, they never go back to the other side.

Helmets:
Are Helmets required? If your or anyone on your team still does not know the answer to this question, please do not call me. :-)

2017-07-09: iPhone for you!
I noticed yesterday is that despite all the warnings, the teams are driving their cars on to the field. Yesterday, a red sedan ran over a kit bag. The kit bag had an iPhone 7 in the side pocket and was completely crushed. Whoever drove that car (or the team) needs to compensate for the phone.  Please accept the responsiblity and come forward with a replacement phone.

Match Delays
All games started late yesterday. That is unacceptable.   Two games were late due to umpires being late.  Both those umpires will be suspended for the rest of the month.  This is what a league can do for you.

Third game started late because the opponent team arrived late.  I will instruct the umpires to start deducting the overs.  A team has to arrive on time, this is what a league expects the teams to do.

Helmets required:

I still notice many batsmen playing without a helmet.  Helmets are required for all batsmen.  It is not a personal choice, it is a liablity issue for the league. If a batsman wants to bat without a helmet, please present your insurance documents to the league.

Unneccesary arguments:
We are a family friendly league. Please maintain a family friendly environment at all times. We all have our differences but they should never translate into sore relationships.  Play the sport, thats what you are here for.  Learn how to get along with each other and appreciate it.

Team and Player Suspensions:
By now, you all must have taken notice that LIPL is different. We are not here to make money, therefore we are not here to entertain the teams.  In past, we have suspended players as well as teams.  LIPL tries to provide the best environment for the teams to come and enjoy the sport.  WE NEED YOUR HELP! All captains MUST ensure that the members meet league expectations or face consequences. PLEASE HELP!

Captains and team managers:
Please ensure that all your team members have read this message.  Share it on your team groups.

2017-06-19: Congratulations to all the teams for a successful campaign for Spring 2017.  Please join me in congratulating a new winner of Spring Cup,  Vipers.  Vipers joined LIPL in 2016 and quickly marched to the top of the tables to claim the title.  Wasiq Ali lead the Top performer chart for his team.  Keep up the good work!

Moguls, Hawks, and Bulls kept the competition alive until the very end.  There were many great performances and quite a few games went down as nail biters.

I hope you all enjoyed the Spring Cup and ready to reset the table for Summer 2017.  Please note few key points for Summer Cup.
  1. Umpire is always right.  Main umpire can overrule the square leg umpire at any point, even for run outs.
  2. We are adding 2 more new teams Devils and Eagles.  Please give them a warm welcome! J
  3. All games will be T20 games.
  4. The times posted on the Schedule are GAME START TIMES. Teams are expected to be ready to spin the toss 30 minutes prior to the start time.  The teams will automatically lose the toss if they are not ready for a toss 30 minutes prior.  Overs will also be deducted for extereme delays.
  5. HELMETS ARE REQIRED (No Exceptions)
  6. Each team is expected to bowl their 20 overs quota in 1 hour and 15 minutes.  There will be 10 minutes innings break.

All teams are requested to keep extra flags, stumps, nails as a back-up.

Enjoy!!!

2017-06-05: Hi all!
We try to be as transparent we can on the financials. This year has been a huge drain on our financials and I want to clearly communicate that we are not a money making league. Our goal is to provide you with the best of the facilities we can provide but we expect all of you to assume responsibility to take care of the League equipment.  We have already lost two mattings this year. I think we also lost our hand-truck this past week. Many cones and stumps are missing too.  PLEASE ensure that if you see any equipment out on the field, try to put it back in the storage shed.

See attached schedule of finances and I wanted to ask the teams if they can pitch in any additional fees. Some teams have offered to make additional contributions and suggested that we should ask teams to pay more. However, I will leave it completely voluntary.  If anyone can find any sponsors please let me know.

Special thanks to Mehul Patel and Anubhav Chopra for their generous donations. I also want to Thanks Sanjeev Rahull @ JRsportings.com for providing the equipment at much lower cost that he usually sells it to others.

Facebook Live: We occasionally post the feeds on Facebook Live and I encourage others to do the same and tagging LIPL Cricket on their feeds. That being said, we should also behave appropriately at all times. The kids and families can be watching the game at any time. Please refrain from cursing and excessive aggression on and off the field.

2017-05-20: Many of you did not read this, so I am send this again.

Hi all!
It was another good weekend of cricket but unfortunately a small incident today may cost us dearly.  One of our members accidently backed up his car into a garbage can on the field and completely destroyed it.  Park police came by later on and warned everyone to not park the cars on the field.  One of the players, who just stopped the car on the field to pick up his kit, got a ticket.

Park police also instructed the players that we will have to park our cars in the Field 2 (a mile away) going forward.  Park Department also said that we leave a lot of mess after our games.  Although I feel that the Park Police was slightly ridiculous but I also feel they are right this time.  Fortunately, it was a garbage can, it could have easily been a kid or a person sitting on a chair.  I have been playing at Hecksher State Park for last 15 years and I have always gone around the loop to park the car. I never drove the car in reverse OR wrong way one the one way street to save 2 minutes of time. It is just common sense.  Keep in mind that the actions of any one of us impacts the whole league.  I do not even know how to defend this incident.

We will just have to face the music and bear the consequences.  I will try my best to mitigate the damage here but in the mean time, please make sure that nobody rolls the cars over on the grass, even for a quick stop.  Also ensure that the ground is liqour free and we do not leave any garbage behind us.

Regards
Kamal Singh

2017-05-17: Hi all!
Thanks for accomodating Vipers' last minute request to change the schedule.  Attached is the final schedule.  We also had to make some changes to the hostings on other games. Please make a note of the changes.  Changes for the remaining Spring Cup games will be posted shortly.

Vipers will be off on May 20th
Bulls will play two T20 games on May 20th
.  Since Bulls are playing 2 games, the hosting has been switched as well.
All other teams are playing only one game on May 20th.

For May 27th. Mustangs and Bulls have requested a day off.  Vipers is likely to play 2 games on May 27th.  Please let me know if any other team is interested in playing a double header on May 27th.

Regards
Kamal Singh

2017-05-07: Hello LIPL family!
It was another good weekend of cricket this week. We confirmed a new team, "The Nurdlers", who will be replacing NY Eagles. For those who are curious, Nurdlers means the players who can take quick singles(what I am told).  The team culture is a great fit for LIPL and I am really excited about their addition to LIPL family.
I just want to reminder everyone that May 13th is a black out date at Hecksher state park. Only 2 games are being held at Brentwood next week.

Few other items I wanted to share are
a) The times posted on the schedule are the game start times. I expect the teams to be at the ground atleast 30 minutes prior to the start.
b) Helmets are required. Regardless of the spin or fast bowling, the batsmen are expected to wear a helmet. Bowlers can refuse to bowl if the batsman is not wearing a helmet.
c) Field restrictions. Althouth we follow the field restrictions, I expect the players to point out the fiielding restrictions prior to the balls being bowled. I will be instructing to the umpires that the balls related to field restrictions is not a NO BALL, it will be considered a dead ball at most.
d) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use your best judgement to get the game started, do not expect me (Kamal Singh) to be the only person to provide you with the nails, hammer, stumps, and flags. If you do not cant find them in the shed, then please keep an extra set with yourself as a back up.
e) Umpire evaluation form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfiVGjybMNew7hkitc_9T4FRo4542OD9ChgqOHyZPEwE6gS2g/viewform.  Please evaluate the umpires on weekly basis. Anyone can evaluate the umpires and this should be done on weekly basis.
f) Scorecards:  I know many of us are new to the scoring app so I expect few mistakes to take place. However, players can ask the captains/designated team scorers to make the edits by Tuesdays each week. Team scorers can submit their updates prior to me locking the scorecards by Wednesday. Once the scorecards are locked, nobody should be expecting us to make any edits.  The Net Run Rates will be locked each Wednesday.
g) Umpiring Fees: Each team is supposed to pay $50 for the umpires at the begining of the match. If a game is rained out, the umpires are still expected to be paid.

Game of the season:
There have been some great games so far but one from last week stands out to be the best game so far. Mustangs needed 5 runs from a last ball and the batsman Sai Madhur Potturu hit the last ball for a SIX to win the game for Mustangs.

2017-04-20: Please note a minor change to the schedule for this weekend.
9:30 AM game Hawks will host Mustangs
1:30 PM game Bulls will host Lions

Sorry for the inconvinience.

2017-04-18: Hi all!
It was a bumpy start to the season but it was a decent weekend overall.   I want to thank teams for helping each other out and being patient for delays caused by other teams.

a) The games did not start on time, I would like it to be an exception rather than the rule.  Soon we are going to start penalizing the teams for coming in late so please be prepared to start the games on time.
b) I also noticed many players were not wearing helmets while they were batting.  It is unacceptable to play without a helmet.  If you have trouble finding the right helmet, please reach out to Sanjeev from Hawks.  You must wear helmets. I expect the fielding team to refuse to bowl when a batsman is not wearing a helmet.
c) Player Swap: Players are allowed to switch their teams for few more weeks. Some teams run short and other have extra players so please work with each other to help each other out.   For example, Mustafa is making a swap to NY Stars and Suleman is moving to Vipers.  If anybody else is looking to swap, please let me know and I will update the teams.
d) Scoring on the app:   Please make sure that you come in prepared to do the scoring on the app.

Thanks everyone for your cooperation and support.

Regards
Kamal Saini

2017-04-14: Hello LIPL family!
The day you have been waiting for is here. Tomorrow, April 15th 2017, is start of another cricket season.  Please revisit the schedule and confirm with all your team members.  Key items to keep in mind
#1: Umpire is always right.

a) All games must start on the time posted on the schedule.  The toss must take place 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start.  The captains must come to the pitch on their own (Umpire is not responsible for calling you for the toss).
b) The team listed first on the schedule will be hosting the games.
c) All players must be registered on NYcricket.com.
d) A team can have up to 13 players in their playing 11.  Any two will not bat or bowl.
e) Helmets are REQUIRED for all batsmen.
f) All games are 25 over with 7 overs of powerplay.
g) For first two week, the teams are allowed to field with a jacket or sweater that is not a uniform.

I look forward to seeing you on the field.

Special call-out:  As you are all aware that the Park Permits fee has increased by $4800 this year.  I was about to shut down the league as it would be unaffordable for us to manage expenses.  The only reason we are still able to play this year is Mehul Patel's additional contribution of $2500.  We all owe him a huge thank you.   We are still short of funds to cover the cost this year so I will welcome any contributions from other members.

2017-03-29: Hi all!
I have nothing but bad news today.  This year is going to be a lot tougher than what we expected.  However, it is my duty to communicate this to all LIPL members.   Here are the three not so great updates.

1) I got a note from the Parks Department today and they confirmed that the Hecksher State Park will not be avialable until April 15th. Therefore, we will be moving some of the games to later in the Summer.  I am still in the process of working with my political connections in Albany to see if I can get access to the fields on April 8th.
2) Another bad news is that the Parks department has increased the fees by a $4,800 this year.  This means that I have to cut back on few expenses I was expecting to make this year.  We may have to increase the number of teams to 12 to be able to afford the additional burden.
3) This year, there are 3 Black out dates. May 13th, July 15th, and August 19.

Despite these challanges, the better news is that we will be able to play 25 over games each weekend.  We are not expecting to raise the league fees but I would strongly encourage everyone to try to get some sponsors for the league.  Please let us know if you have any possible sponsors who could be interested in advertising on our website.

I hope these news do not change your decision to participate in the leauge.  However, if anyone wishes to withdraw their membership, please let me know and we will gladly refund the membership dues.

Really sorry guys! As I said, it is just a day full of bad news today.

Regards
Kamal Singh

2017-03-23: Hi all!
Please note that April 1st is right around the corner.  All teams are expected to stay prepared for the season start.  We are expecting the weather to get better and have a great start.

Important notes:
a) Helmets are required, please ensure all your players are prepared for that.
b) All players MUST be registered on NYCricket.com. Please ensure all your players on your team list.
c) 13 Players can participate in the playing 11.

See you all soon. :-)

2017-03-17: Hi guys!
Empire Pass is now available as a transferrable pass for $80 and you can order it online.

2017-02-23: Spring 2017:
Hi all! I am glad to announce an addition of LI Kings to our Saturday League.  The team will be lead by Danish who used to play for Moguls in 2016 season.  We are not expecting to add any new teams this year.  We will also be getting permits for 3 cricket fields on Hecksher State Park. Before I accept the fees from any teams, I want to ensure that you understand the changes to our format this year.

a) All games will be 25 overs.
b) Each team can have 13 players on their playing eleven.  Any two can just bat only or bowl only.
c) All players must be registered on Cricclubs.com/LIPL prior to the game.
d) The teams MUST come prepared to do the scoring on the app.  If a team fails to do so, they will not be entitled to any stats changes. There are plenty of videos on youtube to learn how to use the app. (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cricclubs)
e) Spring Cup will not have any play offs.  Winner will be declared on points basis and net run rate to break any ties.
f) All teams are requested to arrive 1 hour prior to the game start. This is to ensure that all games start on time.
g) The Scorers must be prepared to start scoring prior to spinning to toss.

Please let us know if anybody has any questions or concerns.

2017-01-12: Hi all! Let me know who is excited about #LIPL2017 already. We will have 10 teams this year and the season will start in April. Fees this year will be $1200 for full season. $500 deposit will be due by Feb 15th 2017. Last year teams will get the first preference until Feb 15th 2017, after that the registration will be on first come first serve basis.
League Financials: We currently have a credit card balance of $13,400 and we expect this year to be another breakeven year.

2016-09-27: Hi all! Sorry for a delay in providing you an update. The games went well but honestly speaking, I was hoping for a better contest during the final week. The teams completed but could not make the games go into final overs.  Hawks beat Bulls in the finals to win the game with dominance. In a similar fashion, Bulls beat Vipers in the second semi final.  First semifinal was a low scoring game but it was perhaps the most competetive one.  Perhaps Lions had the worst luck of the day. Wet outfield, fortunate catches, batsman getting the benefit on a runout call, dropped catch at a crucial moments, and extremely deciplined bowling helped Hawks outshine Lions. Bashir Noory was the only exception for Lions who challanged Hawks in a meaningful way.

Congratulations to Hawks on their win!  Thanks to all the teams for their great contributions this year and I hope to see you all next year.

2016-09-12: Weekend update:
What a great weekend of cricket and LIPL 2016 is set up for another exciting weekend of cricket.

While Lions continue to cement their dominance, LIUCC lost their hopes to qualify for the play offs.  However. Bulls, Mustangs, NY Stars, Hawks, and Vipers are in close race to keep their hopes alive.  Three out of 5 are expected to qualify for the Semis next week.

Here is a quick overview of how it looks for the teams.
Mustangs are playing 2 games against Vipers, they win one, the qualify, they win both, Vipers will have to pack up their bags. If Vipers win both games, they qualify with 21 points.

LIUCC and Hawks are supposed to play 2 games against other. However, due to time constrains, they will be playing only 1 game for 4 points.  Hawks also have to play another game against Falcons. If Hawks lose either game, they also end their season.

NY Stars play their last game against Bulls. They win, they qualify, they lose, it might come down to net run rate.

Bulls have 3 games go play.  They are playing against Lions, NY Stars, and Moguls.  If Bulls win 2 of the 3 games, they qualify.  If they win 1, the still might have a chance.

Looking forward to some exciting cricket this weekend.  Thank you all for a great season so far and I hope to see some close finishes again.

2016-09-01: Hello all!
Happy long weekend to everyone.  As we are gearing up for our final month for 2016 season, the point table is starting to look good for an exciting finish.
Here is how the teams stand so far.
Lions have clearly qualified for the Finals while Moguls and Falcons lost their hope last weekend.  Remaining teams are still running close. If Vipers win this weekend, LIUCC may also lose their chance to qualify.  I am looking forward to this weekend games and I seek everybody's cooperation for the following items.
a) Please try to get all players registered before the games start
b) Please ensure that every player has a uniform. We do not enforce strict uniform code but please try to make your teams look presentable. We will be taking pictures soon, so I know you all want to look good. :-)
c) Helmets:  Please wear helmets.  Do not wait for another disastar. Waqar is doing better but it should be a good wake up call.
d) Scoring: I really hope your teams do the scoring on the app. It is critical for all of us to record accurate stats for the league.
e) Timing:  Try to start the games on the scheduled start.

And lastly, keep in mind that it is just a game. Enjoy the game, respect others, and continue to play the sport like a gentleman.

Have a great weekend!

2016-08-17: Hi all!
Thankfully Waqar is doing much better and he should recover in few more weeks.  However, we need to make sure that we all start wearing the helmets to protect ourselves. Please ensure that all batsmen use helmets going forward.

Hecksher State Park 1 and 2 are unavaliable this weekend. Therefore many teams will have a BYE week, unless you want to play at Brentwood.  Lions will have a BYE this weekend. Hawks will have to take a BYE next weekend.

Thunders has opted to not continue with LIPL going forward. Their reason for separation is that we are unable to start our games on time.  They had 6 games remaining on the schedule and they have been declared as forfiets. The opponents will get 2 points for each game that was forfieted.  Please feel free to recruit players from Thunders if needed.

Any teams that do not start and finish their games on time will not get any time preferences going forward.  Bulls were under prepared last week so we have pushed their schedule to 3PM, even though they prefer to play the AM games.

2016-08-09: Hi all!
I already gave a shout out to Daniel Vijay for his sportmanship this weekend.  I want to highlight another act by NY Stars. They were short of players when the game was supposed to start at 12 PM at Hecksher State Park. They started the game with 6 players and bowled most of their Powerplay with just 5 fielders. They valued others time over their personal needs.  Thanks NY Stars!

As of August 6th, here is the list of games and double headers remaining for the rest of the season. It is shaping up to be a very good season. As of right now, everyone is still in race to win the championship.

MAT Played Remaining Double Headers Comments
Lions 12 6 0
NY Stars 10 8 2
Thunder 11 7 1
Mustangs 10 8 3 8/13 off
Hawks 11 7 1
LIUCC 9 9 3
Bulls 8 10 5 9/3 off
Vipers 9 9 4 9/3 off
Falcons 10 8 2
Moguls 11 7 1

2016-08-08:

Something we never talk about, League Finances.

Hi all, I wanted to quickly provide an update on the financial story of LIPL.  For those who have been with the league for last 5 years, they know how we have been dedicated to making this league a success.  This year, we are almost breaking even with our expenses.  Here is a quick tally of expenses and revenues.  Please let me know if I missed any revenue that you or your team may have contributed.

2016-07-19: Hello LIPL family!
As you all know we have now expanded to 10 team league. I know it is a little late in the season but I am sure the teams will enjoy good cricket.  Due to last minute team addition we will try to increase the number of games each team will play before the final week. That means we will have many more double headers than we expected. We will attempt to play 18 games each before we head into final week on Sept 24th.  We will also be changing the format for final week. Top 4 teams will be able to play the final week.
Sept 24th schedule: First Semifinal #4 vs #1 9 AM Hecksher 1, Second Semifinal #3 vs #2 9 AM Hecksher 2.  Final will be played at 1 PM on the same day.

After this weekend, here is the list of games and double headers remaining for each team. Please let me know if you think it is little too aggressive to play so many double headers.
  Played Remaining Double headers
PJB Lions 9 9 1
Thunder 8 10 2
Falcons 8 10 2
Hawks 8 10 2
Mustangs 8 10 2

2016-06-22: First and foremost, thanks to the Thunders and Vipers for getting the AM games started before 9 AM. It really helps the league and we all appreciate it.  Some great performances this past weekend.  Masum Rahman made 52 to help Moguls open their account.  Vivek Sridhar made 62 but Sanjeev from Hawks outdid him with his buthering 126 off 69 balls.  Karthik is unstoppable and hit another 86 but Siraj's 67 were enough to beat Mustangs.  Lions lost their first game to great team work by Falcons. Bashir Noory showed and excellent all round performance with 70 off 31 with bat and took 2 wickets for 22.  However, Anubhav and Ray Mohan took the game away from Lions.  Great overall cricket.

Superb performance! Congratulations to all.

2016-06-12: Please welcome NY Afghan Braves to our LIPL family. Braves will be part of Summer Cup 2016.
To accomodate the 9th team on the schedule, I might occassionally ask the teams to play two T20 games once or twice. Each team should end up with 16 games by Sept 17th.

Please keep in mind, only 1 of the top 3 teams will be eligible for the title. Top team will automatically go into Final and #2 and #3 team will play for the stop in Finals against #1 team.  All players playing in September must have played atleast 50% of the games during the season to qualify to play in September.  Any player who has played less than 50% games will not be eligible to play for the title games.

Have a great season!
