Match Documents:
KCC travelled to Omaha on a beautiful sunny day and elected to bat first after winning the toss. Ashish and Sukhen started well for KCC and scored easily without much trouble. JJ provided the much needed breakthrough in the 5th, when Ashish was caught brilliantly by Francis. Bryan and Sukhen played sensibly from there and had 90 runs partnership before Sukhen was caught by JJ off Sriram. At 18 overs break, KCC was 132/3 after losing two quick wickets. Bryan and Gau fell soon after the break. But Jon continued the assault on NCC bowlers and few late hits came from Adarsh. KCC finished their innings at 260/8 in allotted 35 overs. [Jon 77*, Sukhen 56, Bryan 53, Adarsh 22 and Srinram 3/33 in 7 overs] The outfield was not as quick as last year, and it is always going to be difficult to chase down 7.5 runs per over. NCC lost Phil off Amit in the third over and pushed further into back foot by some tight bowling. The runs were hard to come by and Amit Pathak and Manish fell to Amit Poddar trying to up the tempo within the first ten overs. Pulkit removed Rajneesh and Francis, both was caught trying to clear the ropes. Break was taken early when Sami was bowled by Sukhen and NCC was in deep trouble with 43/6 in 16 overs. JJ was caught brilliantly by Firoz at long-on off Carl after break. The last wicket provided some resistance as Peter and Avdooth batted well and added 30 plus runs before Peter was caught behind of Amit. NCC folded at 118/10 in 31 overs. Jon was the man of match for his unbeaten 77 in 50 balls. [Rajneesh 20, JJ 26, Peter 23 and Amit 4/32 in 7, Carl 10/2 in 4, Pulkit 2/21 in 4]
