Lions Escape Narrowly a Nail Biter:

While Hurricane Mathew altered a part of the northeast Florida coastline, most of us stood up to survive the storm. FCA has scheduled 3 matches on Sunday after having repeated meetings, discussions, research on weather and checking the ground and pitch for playable conditions. FCA has done a remarkable job this season making few tough calls but at the end it is for the benefit of teams. After doing some maintenance on pitch last Saturday FCA made a final call to schedule 3 matches on Sunday. Teams have made their life so easy by agreeing to play in such short notice so that it doesn’t impact the timelines of tournament. It was Jax Titans and Lions who took the privilege to start of the day after disastrous Mathew. Openers from Jax Titans Vijay and in form Rajesh gave a good start scoring 31 and 20 runs each. Unfortunately it was only them who could score runs as whole batting order of Jax Titans collapsed. Iliyas and Amit took the advantage of moist pitch which was zipping the ball by taking 3 and 2 wickets each. Ravi, Praful, Prasad and Murali gave a good support and made sure the opposition wraps up for 94 runs. In reply it was all an emotional saga, it was a battle between inform bowler Anji and unstoppable Prasad who is in exceptional form this season. It was not the case this time around as Prasad got out for just 4 runs followed by quick couple of wickets. Just when Jax Titans were getting hopefull for the match, Amit had different ideas. He hit the ball for 4’s and 6 scoring 22 runs in just 12 balls. It wasn’t that long until he got out for Gagan. Wickets were falling at regular intervals, guess no one assumed that a batsmen who comes in 8 down will win the match for them in style. It was Sandeep who scored 27 runs in 16 balls with some support from Murali. Sandeep was able to finish the game with huge 6. Anji, Jignesh, Gagan, Rajesh and Vijay bowled exceptionally but couldn’t get the last wicket to win the game. At end it was filled with ups and downs for both teams. With this Lions are in a good position and will be eyeing for a spot in playoffs.

Dominant Kaatans wins against Gladiators:

Being one of the most consistent team in FCA who makes it to play offs often; Kaatans looks more dangerous this time after merging with Invaders. Winning the toss they elected to bat, which went their way as Rajbabu and Alok gave a good start scoring 33 and 20 runs each. It was Sridhar, Chandra and Extras who helped the innings as others failed to produce any runs. On the whole Kaatans made sure to put a target of 133 runs. Except Suresh and Rakesh from Gladiators others were expensive. In reply Rakesh, Rajaraman, Praveen and Manikandan stood up for the challenge but couldn’t produce the win they needed. Guess both teams have decided to use all their team members to bowl against each other as 7 players from each side bowled. Kaatans bowling unit was on target where Chandra, Alok, Mohammed, Rajkumar, Manoj, Grishi and Rajbabu were able to restrict Gladiators for just 104 runs. With this Kaatans is another team which remains the only other unbeaten.

Towering Ramesh Stood against Royals:

Two of the very good teams face each other in the league which one hoped to be an entertainer. Blues the group leader face Royals the finalist of last season. Both the teams came to the ground with full strength and zeal to win. Winning the toss Blues decided to bat first. They had a decent start as they quickly reach 25 in just 4 overs with the loss of one wicket.  That is when everything starts to go downhill.  Except Praneeth (20 runs) all other batsmen saw the face of pavilion leaving Blues in a dangerous situation of 49/7 in 13 overs. At this time Royals were feeling comfortable and were preparing to go for the kill shot and wrap up the innings for a low total. Then came in Ramesh in a very pressure situation. He came in with positive intent and was quick to get his innings going. He hit 5 gigantic 6’s and two of them were against one of the most economical bowler Sushil. His innings (39 runs) catapulted the Blues total to a decent and defendable 98 with a wicket to spare. Royals bowling unit were on target until Ramesh took them on. Senthil was the pick of the bowlers bagging 4 wickets. In reply Blues bowlers were lean, mean and full of steam. They were very economical in the first 4 overs which mounted the pressure on Royals. They were trailing at 24/4 at 10 overs. It was Venkatesh who fought till end with help from Arvind trying to get as close to the target as possible but could not produce a win for Royals. Royals scored a humble 76 before ending their quota of 20 overs.  Bhagwanth was the pick of the bowers by giving just 4 runs in 4 overs. It was a test for the batsman as the bowling units of both teams were very accurate and gave away very few loose balls. On the whole it was an entertaining match watching 2 big teams clashing each other. With this Blues qualify to the playoffs and are unbeaten. Royals are now in a must win game against Jaguras. This tournament is getting real interesting.
